What Business Security Premium is
GravityZone Business Security Premium sits in the middle of Bitdefender's direct business range. Bitdefender positions it for organisations that want early, advanced attack prevention without taking on a full detection and response product.
Bitdefender's product page lists three included modules:
- Modern Endpoint Protection: the GravityZone prevention layers, including local and cloud machine learning, exploit defence, process protection, network attack defence, ransomware mitigation, web filtering, content control and device control.
- Attack Forensics and Visualization: a view of how an attack unfolded on a device, so you can see the root cause and what it touched.
- Sandbox Analyzer: suspicious files are sent to Bitdefender's cloud sandbox and detonated safely before they are allowed to run.
Bitdefender also lists HyperDetect, its tunable machine learning layer, among Premium's detection layers. Premium protects desktops, servers (physical and virtual) and Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, on Windows, Mac and Linux and on virtualised platforms.
For the wider platform, see our Bitdefender business antivirus page.

Patch Management, Full Disk Encryption, mobile and email security are sold as add-ons across the range. Bitdefender also sells a plain Business Security plan and higher XDR and MDR tiers, which are not shown here. Edition contents change, so we confirm against Bitdefender's current pages when we quote.

Sandboxing and tunable machine learning, in plain terms
The two capabilities that most clearly separate Premium from the entry edition are worth understanding before you pay for them.
Sandbox Analyzer. When a file is new or suspicious and the local engines cannot be sure, it is sent to a controlled environment in Bitdefender's cloud and run there. Its behaviour is watched, and if it acts maliciously the verdict is used to block it on your devices. This helps with targeted attachments and new malware that has not been seen before.
HyperDetect. This is a machine learning layer you can tune: more aggressive on high-risk machines such as finance laptops or internet-facing servers, more relaxed where false positives would disrupt work. It is designed to stop attacks before execution, including fileless and script-based techniques.
Attack forensics. When something is blocked, the console shows the chain of events on that device, which helps answer "how did this get here?" without a full EDR investigation.
None of these replace detection and response across your estate. If that is what you need, read EPP vs EDR.
Servers, virtual machines and mailboxes
Bitdefender describes Premium as protecting desktops, servers (physical and virtual) and Microsoft Exchange mailboxes, and says it covers all virtualised platforms. That makes it a common choice for organisations with a few on-premises servers alongside their laptops.
A few practical points apply to server protection with any vendor:
- Exclusions matter more on servers. Database, mail and backup software can be slowed down or disrupted by scanning their working files. Software makers publish recommended exclusions, and we set them by policy rather than switching protection off.
- Virtual machines need care with scanning. Many virtual machines scanning at the same time can load the host, so scan schedules are worth planning around your working day.
- Mailbox protection has changed. Many organisations have moved mail to Microsoft 365, where on-premises Exchange protection no longer applies. If that is you, email protection is a separate decision from endpoint protection.
Our server antivirus guide covers Windows Server in more detail, and Linux antivirus covers Linux servers.

Older names: Advanced Business Security and others
Bitdefender has renamed and repackaged its business editions over the years, so renewal notices and older quotes can show names that are not on today's comparison page. People still search for GravityZone Advanced Business Security, for example, which is not one of the editions Bitdefender currently lists.
If your renewal notice shows an older edition name, do not assume it maps directly to Premium. Send it to us and we will check what it included against today's line-up, then map it to GravityZone Cloud MSP Security modules so you keep the protection you had (or add what was missing). We do not reproduce Bitdefender's support or download material here.
How we deliver Premium-level protection
We do not sell the Business Security Premium SKU. We supply GravityZone Cloud MSP Security and add the modules that match:
| Premium component | Through us |
|---|---|
| Modern Endpoint Protection | GravityZone Cloud MSP Security core layers |
| HyperDetect and Sandbox Analyzer | Advanced Threat Security module |
| Attack Forensics and Visualization | Confirmed at quote; GravityZone EDR gives cross-endpoint incident visualisation if you need more |
| Exchange mailbox protection | Bitdefender lists Security for Exchange as an add-on for its MSP packages, and Extended Email Security covers cloud mail such as Microsoft 365; which fits your mail set-up is confirmed at quote |
| Add-ons (Patch Management, Full Disk Encryption, Mobile Security) | Modules switched on per device group |
Commercially, GravityZone Cloud MSP Security is billed monthly per protected endpoint, and Bitdefender states there is no minimum commitment on its MSP licensing. Modules can be applied to some devices and not others, so you could, for example, run Advanced Threat Security on servers and finance laptops only. Licensing detail is on our sister site's Bitdefender GravityZone licensing page.
Who should choose Premium-level protection
Premium suits organisations that:
- Have servers, including virtual servers, alongside user devices
- Are a likely target for tailored attachments, such as finance, legal and professional services firms
- Want stronger prevention but do not have anyone to watch EDR alerts
- Need web, device and network controls included rather than bought as add-ons
If you are a small office with straightforward needs, GravityZone Small Business Security may be enough. If you are being asked about detection and response, Business Security Enterprise or EDR from another vendor is the conversation to have; our EDR, XDR and MDR guidance covers that side.

- Compare the options: next-generation antivirus, EDR and managed services from vendors including CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, ThreatDown, Bitdefender, Trend Micro, Sophos, Check Point, WatchGuard and Acronis
- Licensing and quotes: the right edition and licence count for your Windows, Mac, Linux, server and mobile devices, with pricing confirmed at quote
- Deployment and migration: we can help roll out agents, set policies and remove the old product cleanly
- Support after go-live: help with policy tuning, alerts and renewals, with the scope agreed at quote
We can also help with the rest of your security, from endpoint security and EDR to Cyber Essentials and security awareness training.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between GravityZone Business Security and Premium?
Premium adds tunable machine learning (HyperDetect), cloud sandboxing (Sandbox Analyzer) and attack forensics to the core GravityZone prevention layers, and protects Exchange mailboxes as well as desktops and servers. Bitdefender keeps EDR features for its Enterprise edition.
Does GravityZone Business Security Premium include EDR?
No. Bitdefender's comparison page lists cross-endpoint detection, threat hunting and anomaly defence as Enterprise features, not Premium ones.
What is Bitdefender Sandbox Analyzer?
It sends suspicious files to Bitdefender's cloud sandbox, runs them in a controlled environment and uses the verdict to block malicious ones on your devices before they can run.
What happened to GravityZone Advanced Business Security?
It is an older edition name that does not appear on Bitdefender's current comparison page. If you have a renewal notice with that name, send it to us and we will map what it included to today's options.
Can I get Business Security Premium through Forever Systems?
We deliver equivalent protection with GravityZone Cloud MSP Security plus Advanced Threat Security and any other modules you need, billed monthly per endpoint. We list each module in the quote.
