In short
SentinelOne Singularity Control is the edition for automatic protection: AI prevention, automated remediation, rollback, network isolation, device control, firewall control and remote shell. Singularity Complete adds EDR, threat hunting, correlated attack storylines, 14 days of searchable telemetry and Purple AI. Choose Control if nobody will investigate incidents; Complete if someone will.

What Singularity Control is
Singularity Control is a SentinelOne endpoint package built around prevention and automatic response. It uses the same agent as every other SentinelOne package, so it gets the same Static AI and Behavioural AI engines, and adds the controls most businesses want from an antivirus replacement: device control, host firewall control and remote access to the device for troubleshooting.
What it does not include is the deep investigation layer. Control stops, cleans up and rolls back; it does not keep the searchable history of activity that EDR relies on. For the bigger picture of SentinelOne as an antivirus, see SentinelOne antivirus for business.
Singularity Control vs Complete compared
| Capability | Singularity Control | Singularity Complete |
|---|---|---|
| Static and Behavioural AI prevention | Yes | Yes |
| Automated remediation and rollback | Yes | Yes |
| Network isolation of infected devices | Yes | Yes |
| Device control (USB and Bluetooth, Windows and macOS) | Yes | Yes |
| Firewall control (Windows, macOS and Linux) | Yes | Yes |
| Remote shell | Yes | Yes |
| Visibility of rogue devices still needing an agent | Yes | Yes |
| EDR and threat hunting | No | Yes |
| Correlated attack storyline for investigation | No | Yes |
| Searchable historical telemetry | No | 14 days as standard |
| Purple AI investigation assistant | No | Yes |
Both editions are licensed per endpoint and run the same agent, so the choice is about how you will run SentinelOne, not about different software on the device.

What Control gives you day to day
These are the capabilities you would actually use with Singularity Control:
- AI prevention on the device: Static AI checks files before they run and Behavioural AI watches what running processes do, without waiting for signature updates.
- Automated remediation: malicious processes are killed, files quarantined and unauthorised changes reversed automatically.
- Rollback: a device can be returned to a trusted state from before an attack on supported systems.
- Network isolation: an infected device can be cut off from the network while it is dealt with.
- Device control: allow, restrict or block USB and Bluetooth devices on Windows and macOS.
- Firewall control: manage host firewall rules centrally across Windows, macOS and Linux.
- Remote shell: open a remote command session on a device to troubleshoot or clean up.
- Rogue device discovery: SentinelOne uses passive and active network sweeps to find devices on your network that do not yet have an agent.
What Complete adds
Singularity Complete keeps everything in Control and adds the tools for investigating what happened:
- EDR and threat hunting: a searchable record of process, file and network activity across your devices, so you can look for indicators of an attack across the estate.
- Correlated attack story: SentinelOne correlates telemetry into a visual story of each event, so you can see the chain from first foothold to detection.
- 14 days of telemetry: searchable EDR history as standard, which SentinelOne says can be upgraded to 365 days.
- Purple AI: SentinelOne's AI assistant for natural-language threat hunting queries, event summaries and investigation notebooks.
SentinelOne says Complete includes all Core and Control features, and Commercial and Enterprise build on Complete. If detection and response is the main reason you are buying, our EPP vs EDR page and the EDR, XDR and MDR guidance on endpointsecurity.uk are good next reads.
Weighing up the options?
We can compare them against your own requirements and give you a straight answer.
Who should choose Control
Singularity Control is a sensible choice when:
- you want an antivirus replacement that works largely on its own, without someone reviewing alerts each day;
- you have no plans to hunt for threats or investigate incidents in depth, and no managed service that would;
- device control and central firewall rules matter, for example to restrict USB storage;
- your cyber insurer or auditors are not asking specifically for EDR with searchable history.
Choose Complete if you, your IT provider or a managed service will investigate incidents, need forensic history, or are being asked about EDR by an insurer. Small businesses weighing this up should also read our antivirus for small business guide.
Control, Complete and managed services
If you are thinking about a managed service, the edition matters. SentinelOne's pricing page does not offer its managed services with Control, because they work from the investigation data that Complete and the larger packages keep:
- SentinelOne lists managed threat hunting and its agentic AI SOC analyst as add-ons to Singularity Complete.
- It includes managed threat hunting in Singularity Commercial, alongside identity threat detection and response and 90-day retention.
- SentinelOne's MDR service, in which SentinelOne's analysts monitor and respond around the clock, is SentinelOne's own service, listed as an add-on to Commercial and Enterprise.
If you would rather we deployed SentinelOne and looked after policies, exclusions and licence changes, without a vendor MDR service, see managed antivirus. The scope of anything we look after is agreed at quote.
What about Singularity Core?
Singularity Core is SentinelOne's entry package, which it describes as cloud-native NGAV and EPP: on-agent Static AI and Behavioural AI, autonomous operation without relying on the cloud, and one-click remediation and rollback. On SentinelOne's pricing comparison, Core does not include the device control, firewall control, remote shell and cloud workload protection that Control adds.
That makes Core a straight antivirus replacement, and Control the step up if you want to restrict USB storage or manage host firewall rules centrally. We usually supply Control or Complete; if you have been quoted Core elsewhere, send it to us and we will lay out how it compares.
Mixing editions and moving up
Because Control and Complete use the same agent, moving from one to the other is a licence and policy change rather than a reinstall. We can also mix editions where it makes sense, for example Complete on servers and high-risk laptops and Control elsewhere, and confirm the licence lines at quote.
Through Forever Systems both editions are licensed per endpoint, month to month or on an annual commitment billed monthly; a minimum endpoint commitment can apply. Our licensing site covers SentinelOne pricing and licence types, and our business antivirus cost guide explains what drives the price.
How we help
We can help you decide between Control and Complete for each group of devices, pilot the agent in detect-only mode, tune exclusions and then switch on automatic protection. Licence changes and renewals sit on one Forever Systems account. Ask us for a quote.

How Forever Systems helps with endpoint protection
We are an independent UK IT and cyber security provider. We supply business antivirus and endpoint protection from several vendors, so we can recommend what fits your devices, your team and your budget rather than pushing one product.
- Review what you have: we look at your current antivirus, your Microsoft licences and the devices you need to cover before suggesting anything new
- Compare the options: next-generation antivirus, EDR and managed services from vendors including CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, ThreatDown, Bitdefender, Trend Micro, Sophos, Check Point, WatchGuard and Acronis
- Licensing and quotes: the right edition and licence count for your Windows, Mac, Linux, server and mobile devices, with pricing confirmed at quote
- Deployment and migration: we can help roll out agents, set policies and remove the old product cleanly
- Support after go-live: help with policy tuning, alerts and renewals, with the scope agreed at quote
We can also help with the rest of your security, from endpoint security and EDR to Cyber Essentials and security awareness training.
